SAMSUNG
is set to unveil a dramatic new design for its upcoming Galaxy S8. It is
rumoured to boast an "all-screen" design with razor-thin bezels
around the display. Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to ship at MWC 2017. It's
been a full two years since the Samsung flagship underwent a facelift, with the
Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge being more of a subtle refinement of the design debuted
with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
And
with Apple rumoured to be planning a radical new look for its tenth anniversary
iPhone in 2017, it makes sense that Samsung wants to unveil something
spectacular. According to sources within Samsung, the company's next-generation
flagship phone will push the boundaries of design with its
"all-display" look. Samsung is expected to ditch the bezel around the
display – extending the screen to the very edge of the chassis.
In
terms of display size, the South Korean firm is expected to release the
5.1-inch and 5.5-inch variations of 4k displays with stunning cameras as seen
on the S7 and S7 Edge.
Samsung
is expected to follow Apple's idea and ditch the industry-standard 3.5mm
headphone port with the Galaxy S8. There are plenty of headphones already on
the market that support USB Type-C, however, Samsung is rumoured to be
developing its own proprietary port to replace the 3.5mm port.
According
to a report , the South Korean firm plans to incorporate new voice assistant "Viv" in its next flagship smartphone. Making an exclusive deal with chip maker,
Qualcomm, Samsung's galaxy S8 will be the fastest Android phone ever.
Samsung’s
device is expected to the first major one in the world to offer an optical
fingerprint sensor. The sensor would be placed under the display and will be an
optical scanner armed with ultrasonic sensors which will make it faster and more
accurate than regular fingerprint sensors.
The
traditional Home Button, which doubles-up as a fingerprint scanner on the new
Galaxy S devices, will be replaced with a virtual one that "will be buried
in the glass in the lower section" of the phone. It's not clear whether
that means the button will be capacitive key, like those found on rival Android
phones, or a pressure-sensitive 3D Touch technology used in the latest iPhones.
Speaking
of the APPLE, it is also staged with an all-new design for its 10th anniversary iconic iphone. the source of Wall Street Journal reported that apple wants iPhone 8 to appear like a single sheet of glass. The Cupertino company is also
rumoured to be experimenting with an OLED display technology, as well as curved
edge to edge glass that wraps around the smartphone.
Apple
also filed the US patent for 'dubbed ultrasonic imaging' – that can be used to
recognise a print through a glass display. The patent also suggests that
ultrasonic imaging is more accurate than using a standalone fingerprint sensor,
like those in the Touch ID scanners used in current generation iPhones. It
means Apple could finally drop the iconic Home Button, freeing space above and
below the display and making the phone more compact.
Featuring
the certified water resistance, facial recognition, longest range wireless
& fast charging, A11 chip embedded, iphone 8 will be the fastest and most
relevant phone in the world, knocking down its rivals.
According
to a new report from Fast Company, the iPhone 8 could cost more than $1,000.
That’s price point wouldn’t exactly be a surprise as the most expensive iPhone
7 Plus is $969 for a version with 256GB of memory. The new OLED display that
stretches across the entire front of the phone, will costs the Apple twice as
much as current LCD displays in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. so with the
top-of-line 2017 iPhone expected to sport a number of new technologies, be
prepared to pay up.
And
now another prominent rumour around Apple's upcoming smartphone plans has
resurfaced and refused to fade away that Apple is actively investigating the
possibility of making a flexible iPhone in the not-too-distant future.
According to the US Patent and Trademark Office, Apple is hard at work on
"a flexible display that is moveable between a folded position and an
unfolded position". In its patent, Apple details on how the unannounced
iPhone would play host to "a sensor that detects whether the flexible
display is in the folded position or the unfolded position." Working in
reverse, this technology will also turn-off the display when it’s re-folded.
well,
if this comes to reality around september, iPhone 8 will be the Apple's first
iphone with the flexible oled display, glass designed & without a home
button.
